A thousand reasons to celebrate

MARK Rowe reckons he has to bite on lemons each morning he gets out of bed.
That’s because Mark cannot believe the success he is having with greyhounds.
Mark was planning his next celebration on Thursday night when his star bitch Millennium led throughout to win a 520m Best 8 at Albion Park.
The daughter of Hallucinate-In My Dreams scored by five lengths over her kennelmate Grampian with a head to Stone Cold Sober (Hallucinate x Kalka Kate) in third.
Greg Brennan trains both bitches.
Millennium has already won the Group 2 Qld Futurity at Albion Park and her victory on Thursday night took her record to 15 wins and eight placings in 33 starts.
Eleven of those wins have been at Albion Park.
Millennium and her kennelmate Grampian will come back to Albion Park next Thursday night for a tilt at the heats of the Group 1 Winter Carnival Cup.
“Grampian is getting near retirement,” said Greg Brennan.
“The end of the winter will probably see her out.
“At this stage I am even contemplating putting her to our own dog Shadow Boxer.”
Shadow Boxer, (Hallucinate x In My Dreams) one of the fastest dogs in the country, is on the comeback trail after injury.
He is a litter brother to Millennium.
Brennan said Millennium had been knocked down at the start when sixth to Velocette in a heat of the Gold Coast Cup at headquarters last week.
“She was badly boxed tonight, but she got a clear run and that’s all she needed,” said Brennan. “Mark will be organizing the celebration for the trip home.”
Millennium has taken her earnings to more than $50,000 in those 33 starts.
