Boxer back to McDonald
1 Oct, 2009.

SHADOW Boxer heads to the Victorian kennels of Darren McDonald at the weekend.
The son of Hallucinate-In My Dreams earned some travelling money when he won a Best 8 (710m) at Albion Park on Thursday night.
He scored by a length and three-quarters in 42.14 downing She's A Penske with a length to Count The Dough in third.
Shadow Boxer, arguably the fastest one-out dog in the country, bounced right back to his best with an impressive victory, his 14th in a 31-start career.
Trainer Greg Brennan was dumbfounded by his dog's dismal last at Wentworth Park on September 12 behind Kulu Warrior.
"He was distressed by the hot weather at Wentworth Park," said Brennan. "He's not a good traveller, but what do you do?
"I have to keep travelling him and he will be flown to Melbourne on Saturday to join Darren's kennel."
Shadow Boxer was in McDonald's kennel earlier in the year but broke a bone in a shoulder in a trial at Sandown. That injury forced him home for recovery.
The dog will run in the heats of the Dillon Memorial at Sandown next Thursday night.
Brennan was slightly disappointed by the dog's 42.14 time. "He got to them very early and I thought he was entitled to run a bit quicker," he said.
Shadow Boxer has already won at Albion Park in a flying 41.72.
Disappointment of the race was favourite Drifting coming off three straight wins including last week's Marathon. The bitch led early but was beaten easily and early.
She dropped out to beat only Elegant Lass who failed to finish the race.

Princess too good
1 Oct, 2009.

BOXES win races is an apt saying that Anna Wright knows only too well.
She proved it again on Thursday night when Princess Kero landed an all-the-way victory in a 520m 5th Grade at Albion Park.
The daughter of History Lesson-Lady Kero, a litter sister to Group performer Lady Moscato, scored by two lengths in 30.43.
She downed luckless Hot Contender with a length and a quarter to Notta Whisper in third.
Princess Kero has lived in the shadow of her better performed littermate and kennelmate Lady Moscato.
That bitch broke down during the Winter Carnival and has been retired to stud. She is yet to come on season though.
Anna says Princess Kero has a broodbitch future in front of her.
"She is the spitting image of her mother and a beautifully natured bitch," said Anna. "We hope she can be a good broodbitch for us."
Princess Kero landed her sixth victory in 32 starts on Thursday night and Anna says the bitch has been luckless in box draws.
"She needs the inside desperately," she said. "She also goes well fresh."
The bitch had fallen at the catching pen in her previous start and Anna and her trainer husband Bob gave the bitch only one gallop between races.
"She also loves Albion Park," said Anna. "We'll keep coming back. She's a totally different dog on the lure."
Hot Contender was last away, checked soon after, and then flashed up late to get second in an impressive performance
